Banjarmasin (Pendis) – The Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Sahbirin Noor, participated in monitoring the Covid-19 vaccination at the State Islamic University (UIN) Antasari Banjarmasin. The vaccination at UIN Antasari have been carried out eight times since March 2021 until now in collaboration with the Banjarmasin Cempaka Putih Health Center and the South Kalimantan Regional Police.
Accompanied by the Chairman of the DPRD for the Province of South Kalimantan, the Governor of South Kalimantan, who is familiarly called Uncle Birin, appreciates and is proud of this COVID-19 vaccination activity. "This has been conducted for the eighth time, if it has been done eight times, it means that UIN Antasari is already a pioneer," he said in Banjarmasin, Tuesday (16/11/2021).
Uncle Birin said that since the promotion of mass vaccination programs in various regions, COVID-19 cases in South Kalimantan have decreased and there have been no positive reports of COVID-19. However, Uncle Birin still reminded residents to maintain health protocols.
"We must remain vigilant, we must remain careful, everyone maintains what is called as health protocol, we don't want this disaster to happen again to us," he said.
He reminded that in addition of efforts to constrain the rate of development of COVID-19 through this vaccination, students are encouraged to keep praying. "Prayer is part of the effort that we must do, we continue to pray, hopefully in time COVID-19 will be vanished on the surface of this earth," said Uncle Birin.
"Hopefully, vaccinations that support the government's program will continue and students can return to carry out face-to-face lectures," he added.
The Chancellor of UIN Antasari, Mujiburrahman welcomed the arrival of the Governor of South Kalimantan, and expressed his gratitude for the visit of the number 1 person in South Kalimantan. For the Chancellor, Uncle Birin's arrival is an honour for UIN Antasari.
"This is a concern from the Governor so that this vaccination program runs smoothly and quickly," said Mujiburrahman.
Mujiburrahman also expressed his gratitude that so far, UIN Antasari has been a partner and has received vaccinations since March 2021 until now. He hopes that the target of 70% vaccination for students can be achieved. (Trans: LQM)
