Jakarta (Pendis) --- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology or intelligence created by human in a machine and the main goal is to ease human’s task. AI is not new for us, but the development of AI attracts our interest. That is said by the Director General of Islamic Education, Muhammad Ali Ramdhani while conveying his speech at a Webinar titled “Artificial Intelligence and Human’s Role: About Education of Character Issues” held by BRIN.
“AI is evolving and become knowledge machine that its influence and ability is impressive. When OpenAI, that initiates ChatGPT threatened Google. We realise our attachment to Google, don’t we?” said Dhani, DG’s nickname.
The development of knowledge and technology is undeniable. Changes in human’s life is rapid and cannot be avoided. Dhani said that variety of AI and digitalism development forces human to be adaptive. He also reminds that this rapid change of technology must be faced with integrity, responsibility and ethic, so the effects are not crashed with other humanity values.
“Benefitting AI, we are hoping there will be more interesting innovation and development in the future. Each of us can correctly and maximally prepare ourselves to face various challenges and developments.” Hoped Dhani.
He also stressed that AI cannot completely replace human’s role. For example, as teacher in education sector that able to guide all of learning process. AI or artificial intelligence is our defence in the future, he stated.
Ahmad Najib Burhani, Head of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Organisation, BRIN, said that the era of Artificial Intelligence could be the beginning of a shift in expertise from human to machine. But keep in mind, Artificial Intelligence also has an ‘ideology’, at least influenced by those who design it.
In this AI era, when looking for answers to various problems, one no longer meets with experts in certain fields, but the answers come from machines. It is very important for us to address together, so that changes and developments due to technology become things that always bring good and positive things, he concluded.
